The palate opens with abundant fruit-filled flavours, such as cherries and plums. The complexity of this wine stays right through its lengthy finish. Viña Ventisquero was founded in the late 1990s by Gonzalo Vial and has quickly gone on to become one of the countries top wine producers. With a winery based in the coastal Maipo Valley the estate sources grapes from the prestigious Casablanca, Leyda, Colchagua and Apalta Valley regions to produce a range of sought-after, awardwinning wines. Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Carménère provide the backbone of the range produced by winemaker Felipe Tossa and consultants Aurelio Montes and ex-Penfolds winemaker, John Duval. Cabernet Sauvignon is a red wine grape variety that is widely considered to be one of the finest grape varieties in the world for producing high-quality wines, and is the dominant grape in Bordeaux region. The grapes are small, thick-skinned and yield wine that can be very full-bodied with high tannins. It is known for its intense, complex flavors, including blackcurrant, black cherry, and black olive, with notes of cedar, tobacco, and graphite.
